Nancy Dunn, Owner / Director Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Pointe, Acrobatics
Nancy has had the pleasure of teaching the art of dance to the young people of the Upper Keys for the past 23 years as Owner and Director of On Your Toes Dance Studio in Tavernier. She is a proud member of Florida Dance Masters of America, an organization of dance teachers from all over the country who promote the arts and offer scholarships to dancers from across the state of Florida. Nancy has had students go onto dance professionally at Walt Disney World and Orlando Ballet, and several others have gone on to continue their dance education at arts colleges and state universities across the country. On Your Toes Dance studio’s Elite competition team has been awarded numerous Platinum and Gold honors at competitions across Florida including Showbiz, Access Broadway, American Dance Project, Showstoppers and Co Dance Nationals. Her students have been awarded top honors in Florida Dance Masters scholarship auditions.
Stephanie Dunn Zlockie, Co-Director Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Acrobatics
Stephanie began dancing at the age of 4 and has been at it ever since. In 1990 her mother Nancy Dunn opened On Your Toes Dance Studio here in the upper Keys, where Stephanie continued her training in ballet, tap, jazz, and acrobatics. Throughout high school Stephanie competed with her studio taking home numerous awards including the prestigious Edith Royal Memorial Scholarship for overall high scores in all categories of dance from Florida Dance Masters of America. She graduated with honors from University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications and a minor in Political Science. Stephanie danced with Floridance, Florida’s M.O.D. project, a modern dance company, and the People’s Touring Project. Stephanie studied in residence at UF with Merce Cunningham Company, ODC San Francisco, and Shapiro and Smith Dance. After graduating Stephanie returned to the Keys to work at On Your Toes. In addition to teaching classes, she also co-directs and choreographs for On Your Toes Dance Studio’s Elite Competition Team. Her students have taken top honors at regional and national competitions and Stephanie has been recognized for her outstanding choreography. She is a certified member of Florida Dance Masters of America.
Brian Burt Hip-Hop, Contemporary
Brian, originally from Oklahoma City, has been training and dancing since the age of ten. In 1998, Brian won the gold medal as a member of the United States Tap Dance Team. At age 19, Brian moved to Los Angeles where he continued his training as a scholarship student at EDGE Performing Arts Center in Hollywood. Brain has performed with Paul McCartney in three international tours and appeared on numerous TV programs including the Drew Carey Show, Donnie and Marie Show, Good Morning America, The Early Show and the Tonight Show. Brian’s most memorable dance experience would have to be performing in the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in “A New Day” starring Celine Dion. Brian’s screen credits include “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang”, “Extreme Movie” and “Dukes of Hazard” where he worked with Jessica Simpson in the music video “These Boots are Made for Walkin’”. Brian has performed in many industrials and traveled to London, England where he filmed a Jamison Irish Whiskey commercial. In addition to teaching at OYT, Brian also travels the country teaching at Flow 40 dance workshops.
